Negative Health Impacts from Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Investing in renewable energy is investing in the future prosperity of the community. Greenhouse gas emissions are a key driver in human-induced climate change, resulting in myriad health consequences. Diseases are more likely to spread and toxic pollutants can increase the risk of cancer, asthma, cardiovascular disease.
Children, women, the sick, and the elderly are the most vulnerable to these health risks. In a 2014 study published by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, the findings found a positive relationship between kids living in high density traffic locations and leukemia.
