How is the county supporting renewable energy projects?

Beginning in November of 2017, the Clay County Board of Planning began altering regulations regarding the installation of renewable energy in the county. It was discovered by Tim Magnusson that the current regulations only allowed small household or small functional projects to take place. This regulation prevents larger corporations from engaging in projects, which would expand the power supply greatly to towns and townships, rather than small, residential areas alone. Since the regulation was discussed, it has made its way through various planning stages through the Planning Commission, including a public hearing on November 13th of 2018. As this regulation moves forward, more opportunities for large scale renewable energy projects will be available for the county.
